Brides, Festivals and Babies....

It's been a busy few weeks at Kate Balding HQ, I've been meeting lots of new brides-to-be for wedding trials, honouring flower garland orders for weddings & festivals and providing one-on-one tuition. It's been great fun making people look beautiful and finding out all the wedding details (including cheeky sight of top secret wedding gowns!).

My main challenge this year was to get driving and I passed my test (first time!) early August (woo hoo!). So, I am now a makeup artist avec wheels - which should make life easier transporting my massive kit wherever I go.

Last weekend I attended V-festival where the lady herself Beyonce headlined - an amazing day shared with great people (let's not mention the rain!). I have attached a few pictures of the day below, I wore a handmade flower garland, vintage 1960s kaftan and my lippy of the moment - MAC's Candy Yum Yum!

On top of all this, my cousin gave birth to baby Arthur - was soooo excited to meet him and already cannot wait for more cuddles!

Next weekend I have a massive cupcake order for a 30th birthday party. Its been a while so I'm looking forward to chucking the apron on and getting creative - will definitely share pictures.

So lots of good news and fun stuff going on, if you haven't already, be sure to visit my facebook page (link below).

Have a fantastic bank holiday weekend and until next time.... x

Peony & Rose Flower Garland and Bridal Makeup Look

Peony & Rose flower garland.

Another day, another flower garland! Again, this one was really fun to create, using deep pink, cream and lemon peonies, peach, cream and deep pink roses and mini pink ranunculus with gyp and green foliage to add some variation.

As with the garland I recently created for a beauty photo shoot (see - this garland was large and voluminous and I think the large buds look really effective balanced against Alix’s long (and luscious) locks!

For Alix’s makeup I kept it really simple as not to overpower the garland, plus Alix has lots of beautiful freckles and I didn’t want the makeup to look as if I was attempting to ‘cover’ them up.

Products used:
• Clarins Beauty Flash Balm - as a base
• BECCA Matte Skin Shine Proof Foundation in ‘Sand’- just a sweep of this to even out skin tone.
• MAC blush in Gingerly.
• On the eyes I used MAC Brule, All That Glitters and run some Embark through the crease and under the eye
• I used some Vita Liberata Skin Perfecting Illuminisor in Rose on the cheekbones (although this cant really be seen in the pictures). This product is quite new to my kit but gives a beautiful highlight to the skin.
• I used ‘HD brows’ shadow through the brows and extended them slightly.

This is a beautiful bridal look - hope you like!x
